UGA Alumna Returns to Speak with Current Students
Brian Robinson, Founder of Robinson RePublic, responds to questions and advises students on their future career fields.
ATHENS, August 22, 2017 -
Today Brian Robinson returned to the University of Georgia to speak with students in the Public Affairs Professional Certificate Program. As former communications director to Gov. Nathan Deal, Robinson has insight into the field of political communication as well as experience running a campaign.
The students had questions right and left with subjects such as the effects of social media on political campaigns and the strategy of approaching a campaign message.
“You’ve got to figure out your message, drive it, and stick with it. That’s what’s important,” said Robinson, speaking on key components of campaign management.
After Robinson’s talk, several students were provided the opportunity to attend lunch with Robinson, giving them the chance to network and ask further questions.
Alumni involvement on campus has always proved beneficial for students and Robinson’s visit today is another example of that.
About the PA Professional Certificate Program
The Public Affairs Professional Certificate Program is a program open to students in the Grady College’s Department of Advertising and Public Relations as well as the School of Public and International Affairs’ Department of Political Science.
